Livingstone Museum Events
The Museum occasionally organises special events such as cultural dancing competitions and lectures on various subjects.
Biggest Happenings
One of the biggest events to have taken place in Livingstone was the United Nations World Tourism Organization Conference that took place in Livingstone, Zambia and Victoria Falls Town of Zimbabwe, from 24th to 29th August 2013.
Education and Guided tours
The museum has a vibrant education department vested with the duty of ensuring that heritage information is disseminated to the public for their enjoyment and education.
Museum Archive
The museum has an archive with over 8000 records which include primary records of the colonial government, explorers such Dr. David Livingstone and his companions, early cartographic maps, note books, diaries and newspapers from as far back as 1906 when the first newspaper in the country was produced.
Research Collections
The museum holds extensive reference collections in the fields of its specialty. These are accessible to researchers on request.
Livingstone Museum Craft Shop
The craft shop offers a wide variety of traditional Zambian handicrafts including basketry, paintings, woodcarvings, jewellery and other souvenirs.
Refreshment Centre
The centre offers refreshments in the form of soft drinks and bottled water and serves as a resting place after a walk around in the galleries.
