The gallery describes the story of human evolution and cultural development in Zambia from Stone Age to Iron Age. Exhibits show shifts in prehistoric technology and its application in food procurement production and preparation.

The material evidence used comes from prehistoric sites in different parts of Zambia, some of which are Broken Hill Mine in Kabwe, Nachikufu caves in Mpika, Ing'ombe Ilede in Siavonga and Sibusenga in Livingstone.
